Macrobiotic Counselor & Coach
The word "macrobiotics" literally means "great life." When we look to traditional cultures for models of healthy lifestyles, we learn to live in accord with nature, experiencing a fulfilling and healthy life. As macrobiotic people, we take responsibility for our own health from a wholistic view and focus on healing ourselves on many levels, rather than just the physical body. If we discover which areas of the body are affected by dis-ease, we can understand how to create balance in other areas of the body, which will harmonize the emotions, mind, and spirit as well. Therefore, macrobiotics is about living a life filled with health, happiness, and freedom according to your dream, whatever that means to you. If you are interested in learning how to adjust your diet for better health, or if you would like to learn more about macrobiotics, contact me about cooking classes, educational lectures, or customized macrobiotic consultations. Do you need support to maintain your healthy balanced lifestyle? I am like a safety net, here to support you in a gentle and easy way to help you stay centered.
Natural and Therapeutic Chef
Gourmet cuisine should be attractive, flavorful, and nutritious, as pleasing to the eye as to the palate. Like an artist's passion to layer pigments that dance and flow into a panoramic vision, my passion as a natural and therapeutic chef is to combine nature's spectrum of nourishing foods into creative, healing works of art. Come join the fun at my cooking workshops called "Secrets from the Macrobiotic Kitchen." Learn secrets to creating the most luscious, tantilizing, and nutritious meals that your palate could ever imagine. You will feel the colors of the paint brush as my creations unfold before your eyes as I teach you how to cook. I can also provide a therapeutic plan with prepared meals for balancing your diet and lifestyle to heal your condition.
Acupressure Practitioner
In China, acupressure has been used for thousands of years to relieve pain, stress, and tension, using key points on the body to allow the body to heal itself. "Shiatsu" literally means "finger pressure," which is the ancient Eastern art of pressing and holding these key points to open up healing energy. (These are the same points used in acupuncture but without the needles.) From the Western view, acupressure encourages the body to release natural endorphins, which are neurochemicals that mediate pain relief. Pressing points on the muscles promotes relaxation, increases circulation of blood, and activates life force energy to aid in healing. I know the stress patterns of someone who can't sleep. Treat yourself to a relaxing acupressure massage and watch your tension and stress melt away. Each session is customized to your individual needs.
